Currently, our team is small—comprised of our founders, Facility Director Robert "Birdman" Kirwan, Medical Director Dr. Amy Bowman, Executive Director Angela Vanhoy, and Outreach Director Eric Vanhoy. A Winning Team

We began our journey by sharing our home with parrots that came to us through word of mouth. It quickly became apparent that the demand for bird rescue in Charlotte, NC was significant, inspiring us to do more for these beautiful creatures. In 2023, we applied for official 501(c)(3) status and are currently working on expanding our facili

It quickly became apparent that the demand for bird rescue in Charlotte, NC was significant, inspiring us to do more for these beautiful creatures. In 2023, we applied for official 501(c)(3) status and are currently working on expanding our facilities to accommodate more parrots and enhance our efforts, including at local events like the Renaissance Festival.

Parrots Are Our Mission

We focus on providing a forever sanctuary for parrots, which often outlive their human companions and get shuffled through multiple homes, causing them distress. Our bird rescue in Charlotte, NC, strives to ensure excellent health and wellness for these birds while accommodating their many behaviors, just like the vibrant atmosphere of a renaissance festival.
